Meet Hannah: Our New Archives Technician

We’re excited to welcome Hannah Worden-Cloudt to the Utah State Archives! Hannah is a former intern who has returned to join our team as an Archives Technician. She will be working out of the Records Center, our secure records facility in Clearfield. Get to know Hannah in her own words:

What is your job title and what types of things will/do you work on?

As an Archives Technician working at the Records Center in Clearfield, I help manage records that are stored there for government agencies across the state. My responsibilities mainly include pulling and sending records, accessioning new boxes, and preparing records for destruction after they have met their retention requirements.

What is your background and how did it lead you to working at the State Archives?

My background includes six years in the U.S. Air Force, where I served as a weather forecaster and records manager. After separating from the military, I began my undergraduate degree in History at the University of Utah. During that time, I completed a Records Accessioning Internship with the Utah State Archives and decided that I wanted to pursue a career in archives.

I am now starting my Master’s in Library and Information Science and thought this job opportunity was an excellent place to continue gaining experience in the archival field.

What are you most excited about your new job?

I am most excited to see a different side of the archival field from the accessioning work I have previously experienced. I am also excited to learn more about the relationships between different government agencies and how the Records Center fits into that.

Do you have any special hobbies or talents you want to share with a larger audience?

I love to bake, make fun treats, and try out new recipes. I also like to spend lots of time outside with my two dogs.
